This year’s ICAST produced a lot of “WOW!” moments as Inventive Fishing moved from vendor to vendor, but perhaps none as jaw-dropping as this painting.

Meet the work of Mike Savlen, who was on hand and producing live art at the Levelwear Booth.

Savlen’s art is produced as a Levelwear clothing line, including t-shirts, polos, hoodies, hats, belts, key fobs, and other items in both men’s and women’s cuts and sizing.

 

Given that much marine art that appears on clothing strives for a natural, representational quality, we appreciate the inventive and delicate abstractness of Savlen’s designs, which capture the raw energy and resplendent colors of these incredible gamefish.

Savlen’s designs range into both saltwater and freshwater species. Of course, we were most interested in the marine species, which include inshore gamefish such as tarpon, permit, bonefish, redfish, and trout, and offshore gamefish such as sailfish, marlin, tuna, mahi, and other species.

On initial inspection, the clothing not only looks great, but feels great as well, and we can’t wait to don Savlen’s sportswear out on the water.
